The 2015 SUPER HOBBY STOCK Series

This is an eight (8) race series/championship that will run on the same nights as the Open LoanMart Late Model Series.

The Super Hobby Stock Series is open to all drivers ages 14 and older, the rules are simple and the race procedures are straight forward. No membership is needed for this series, all pit passes are $40 for pit crew, the entry fee for car and driver is $75 per race. The race dates for this championship TBA

The race distance is 50 laps for each of the eight main events, this will be a split 25 lap format with a halftime break of roughly one hour for the teams to adjust their cars. How to make the main event; Cars will qualify for starting positions, then there will be a card draw for the top ten starting spots. There will be a "B" main if the field exceeds 24 cars. The BIG SEASON ending event in October will be 70 laps (split 35's).

The rules for the Super Hobby Stocks; Note, there are three different car packages you can operate under, this allows a wide range of cars to be competitive in this fun series.


Package (A)

Package (A) - Cars operating under the package (A) will meet the following requirements;

Weight - 3,100 prior to qualifying and any race.

Engines- (A) cars will run a factory stock 602 crate engine, (A) cars must run an MSD rev limiter and will be required to run a track provided 6,000 rev chip at all times.

Body - (A) cars must run a body that is made of either steel, or aluminum, (hoods may be fiberglass), roof must be factory steel, bodies are to be as stock appearing as possible. Bodies must have complete nose and tail coverings. No ABC Style Bodies, no wedge style bodies. Non-conforming bodies will carry a 75 pound weight penalty that includes a maximum left side weight of 58%.

Suspension - (A) cars may run aftermarket upper A-Arms and bite bolts, but must run stock front suspension for make and model other than upper A-Arms. (A) cars may run a single piece adjustable sway bar. No three piece sway bars allowed. (A) cars must run a rear leaf spring suspension.

Frames - (A) cars must be factory stock frames, but you may build a fabricated rear clip/frame section on (A) cars. You make build frame connectors on cars without a factory center section frame, such as sub-frame cars. No late model chassis, no modified chassis.

Stock Sheet Metal - (A) cars must have stock floor pan and firewall from the driver's side to the drive shaft tunnel. Non-conforming firewall/floorboard (75 pound weight penalty), there is also a 58% maximum left side weight rule for any car carrying a weight penalty.


Package (B)

Package (B) - Cars operating under the package (B) will meet the following requirements;

Weight - 3,300 prior to qualifying and any race. 58% left side maximum left side weight.

Engines- (B) cars may run any normally aspirated engines, engine block and cylinder head must be cast iron. All engines must be wet sump, and may be any cubic inch. (B) car carburetors must be 4412 or equivalent 500 cfm. Must fit Go-No-Go Gauges for 4412.

Body - (B) cars must run a body that is made of either steel, or aluminum, (hoods may be fiberglass), roof must be factory steel, bodies are to be as stock appearing as possible. Bodies must have complete nose and tail coverings. No ABC Style Bodies, no wedge bodies. Non-conforming bodies will carry a 75 pound weight penalty.

Package (C)

Cars operating under package C must meet the following requirements;

Weight - 3,100 pounds prior to qualifying and any race.

Engines- (C) cars may run any normally aspirated engines, engine block and cylinder head must be cast iron. All engines must be wet sump, and may be any cubic inch. (C) cars may run any single carburetor, again, any size four barrel or two barrel.

Body - (C) cars must run a Stock Body, all body panels must be factory stock including hood, fenders, doors, quarter panels, trunk, rood, hood, etc…

Suspension - (C) cars may run aftermarket upper A-Arms and bite bolts, but must run stock front suspension for make and model other than upper A-Arms. (C) cars may run a single piece adjustable sway bar. No three piece sway bars allowed. (C) cars must run the factory rear suspension their cars came from the factory with.

Brakes - (C ) cars must run factory stock brake pedal assembly with no brake balance bar allowed.

Frames - (C) cars must be factory stock frames, NO Fabricated frames allowed whatsoever on (C ) cars. Frame connectors ok on sub-frame cars for roll cage and safety purposes.

Stock Sheet Metal - (C) cars must have a complete stock floor pan and stock front and rear firewall with no exceptions. Trunk area may have the stock sheet metal removed to make room for a fuel cell.


Common rules that apply to all three packages, package A, B, and C

Roll Cage - All cars must have a full roll cage built from a minimum 1 ¾ x .095 round tubing, and must have a complete set of driver side door bars and at least and "X" in the passenger side.

Wheels & Tires - Wheels must be 7" or less, and must be steel. Tires must be the Hoosier 970. (We have some used tires available at no charge if you need them).

TRANSMISSION - May only be STANDARD 3 OR 4 SPEED, OR AUTOMATIC 2 OR 3 SPEED. Must be O.E.M. Manual transmission must use O.E.M. or O.E.M. REPLACEMENT SINGLE DISC CLUTCH. Automatic transmission must use O.E.M. or O.E.M. REPLACEMENT TORQUE CONVERTER. NO RACING OR HIGH PERFORMANCE CLUTCHES OR TORQUE CONVERTERS ALLOWED. A. All gears must be in stock working order. Transmission must be able to go into gear with engine running and car sitting still. B. All standard transmissions must have a S.E.M.A./NASCAR approved STEEL bell housing. Automatics must have a S.E.M.A. approved ring gear shield or a tech inspector approved 1/8" steel plate inside the car on the transmission tunnel part of the floorboard.

REARENDS - No quick change rear ends allowed.

TRACK WIDTH - All competing cars will not exceed 79" inch track width, it will be measured from the bulge outside to outside of the front tires at the spindle height.

EXHAUST SYSTEM - Stock O.E.M. cast iron exhaust manifolds, Center dumps are allowed, or Single flange tube type headers allowed. No wrap around, step, or 180 headers allowed. Any muffler may be used provided maximum sound level 95 db at 100'. Maximum 2.5" pipe, dual exhaust OK. No flex pipe. Exhaust must extend behind the driver's seat, with no exhaust of any kind inside the car. Any size outlet OK. Exhaust must be securely attached to the bottom of the car. Loss of any part of exhaust system on or off track will be cause for Black Flag.

Rear Spoiler - Rear spoiler may be no taller than 5" and may be no wider than 60" wide. There may be NO forward, or rearward supports of any kind, no Gurney Lip, NO wicker bill, etc.

SHOCKS - Any steel shock, all parts must be steel. Aluminum rod end on shaft end ok.

BRAKES - Only single piston OEM style brake calipers allowed.

Note, any car carrying any weight penalty will be limited to 58% left side weight.

Race Procedures; The races are 50 laps, split 25's format with a half time break at lap 25. 1. Teams can work on their race cars all the way up until the green flag of the first segment without penalty, or position loss. 2. Teams can work on their cars at the halfway break, they may change anything they want except tires, and each car must remain on the tires the car qualified on. A team may work on the car before the green flag of the second segment without penalty, or loss of position. 3. If a car is worked on after the green flag has been thrown for either the first 25, or second 25 lap segment, then the car must re-enter the race at the rear of the field. 4. The original start will be double file, all restarts for the Limited Late Model Series will be double file, but the leader has earned the right to set the pace, and it will be the leader that accelerates first in the starting box. 5. Any car that takes out the leader will go to the rear of the field unless the leader is called for blocking, this includes the final lap of the race. 5. Championship points are awarded for the main event with 50 points going to the race winner, 48 for second, 46 for third and so on... There is 5 bonus points for the winner of the first 50 lap segment of each race (if the first half is cut short the bonus points will be awarded to the leader at that point).
There is points for qualifying, 4, 3, 2, 1, for the top four cars.

All cars must run a transponder.
