HotWood 150, July 4th, 2008. Race procedures and prize money. The NASCAR Whelen All American Series Western Late Models are running 150 total laps in a split 75 lap main format. This night of racing is part of the HotWood 750 Series featuring a $6,000 bonus points fund paid at the end of the nine races on six nights at the Madera Speedway. We will run the event as follows: 1) The top 16 qualifiers are locked into the 150 laps of racing. The first lap will dictate the starting order in the first 75 laps and the second qualifying lap will dictate the starting position in the second 75 laps. Your fast lap will lock you into the show. 2) We will transfer 4 cars from the "B" main, these 4 cars will be locked into the 150 laps of racing. The cars that don't make the "150 laps of racing" will be paid from our "B" main payoff sheet (21st - $175, 22nd - $150 etc….). The "B" Main will pay $1,000 to win with a field of 26 or more cars. 3) The payoff for the 150 laps of racing is being split into two purses, we are splitting the races to get two events in one night (split 75's) Example, each 75 will pay $1,500 to win, last will pay $100, with each driver insured $200 total that's makes the mains. Now let's go over the ???'s that will come up: 1. What will happen if I crash in the first 75 and can't make the second 75? Answer, you will receive payoff money for your finishing order in the first 75, plus $100 for last in the second 75 (once you qualified for the 150 laps of racing you are locked in and determined to have made an attempt to start the event). Bottom line is all cars that make the mains are insured of $200 to start, just like a regular race. 2. What about points? We will pay full points for each 75 lap event, each will be its own points event (two races in one night). If you crash in the first 75 and can't make the second, you will receive points for last place in the second event (once you are qualified for the 150 laps of racing you are locked in). 3. Tires? 4 new tires for the entire 150 laps of racing, and qualifying. "B" main cars that transfer to the "A" main will be allowed (4) new tires to start the "A" main, but they must use this one set of tires for the entire 150 laps of racing in the "A" mains. 4. Can we work on the car between the mains? Yes all cars will have to go back through the tech line before the second 75. 5. If we crash can we use a backup car? Yes, any car on the grounds that meet the rules is eligible, but, if the back up car happens to be a car that is locked into the 20 that made the event, the driver of the car to be used must first withdraw the car for the second event and the Competition Director must determine that the primary car is beyond repair. 6. If a back car is used can we run new tires? No, you will have to transfer the 4 race tires to the new car. 7. What happens if I have flat, you will be able to replace the tire and continue, show the flat tire to an official after it is changed and you may continue. If you have a flat between the races (after the first race) and you have to change a tire, you must get approval from the Competition Director first, and you will have to start the 2nd 75 at the rear of the field. 8. What is the entry fee for the $3,000 to win event? There is no car entry fee for the event, just buy a regular pit pass like any week and you are in. 9. What if a driver sand bangs to get into the "B" main to have a shot at winning the 40 lap $1,000 "B" and then the $3,000 "A" mains? This would be exciting, because the driver that wins the "B" main would have to start at the rear of the field in both "A" mains, sort of like the NASCAR All Star Open race winner at the Lowes Speedway. This would be 190 laps of racing to win $4,000 on one night! We would like for a driver to take this challenge. 10. Do yellow flag laps count? No, this is Saturday night short track racing at its best and we are going to give the fans 150 laps of green flag action (190 laps of green flag late model racing counting the "B" main) Prize money for the HotWood 150 Each 75 lap Race will pay as follows: 25 or more WLM cars 1-$1,500 2-$750 3-$500 4-$350 5-$300 6-$250 7-$200 8-$150 9-$125 10-$110 11-20-$100ea. 1-24 total WLM cars 1-$1,500 2-$650 3-$400 4-$275 5-$250 6-$200 7-$170 8-$150 9-$125 10-$110 11-20$100ea. . The 150 laps of racing will pay $3,000.00 to win, $1,500 per 75 lap race. The balance of the payoff will be from one of the two payoff structures as you can see from above. B-Main will pay from the "B" payoff sheet. The "B" Main will pay $1,000 to win with a field of 26 or more cars. The "B" main for this special event is 40 laps. The driver that wins the "B" main and transfers to the "A" mains to race for the $3,000 to win, will have a shot at winning $4,000 in one night of late model racing at the Madera Speedway!!! The prize money and point fund for a 25 car field is just under $14,000 for this one event, plus $1,000.00 that goes into the $6,000.00 HotWood bonus fund at the end of the six HotWood 750 series nights, that makes this nearly a $15,000.00 night for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Western Late Models at the Madera Speedway!
